Church Hurt: A Message to the Wounded and the Watchers

Author’s Note & Ebook Disclaimer

This book was written as a testimony, not a product; as an offering, not a transaction.

Church Hurt was born of lived experience, prayer, tears, and the quiet work of God’s healing. It is shared to encourage restoration, reflection, and truth among those wounded in church spaces yet still seeking to remain connected to God.

This eBook is intended for personal reflection, prayer, and healing. While it is protected by copyright, my heart is not centered on control but on care. If this message ministers to you and you feel led to share it with someone who is hurting, do so in love and integrity. If you are able, please encourage them to support the work by purchasing their own copy or leaving a review so others may find healing as well.

May this testimony never be used for fame or fortune but for restoration, reconciliation, and truth.

— Linda Brinson

Why the Reflection Workbook Is Free

Healing should never be behind a paywall.

I have learned that some of the deepest wounds cannot be rushed or simply skimmed. They must be processed slowly, prayerfully, and honestly. Reflection creates space for God to meet us in ways words alone sometimes cannot.

This companion reflection workbook is offered free because I believe healing is a ministry before it is a marketplace. Not everyone who needs this message can afford additional materials, and I never want cost to be the reason someone remains wounded or silent.

If this workbook helps you pause, breathe, cry, reflect, forgive, or start again, then it has fulfilled its purpose.

My prayer is that this space becomes sacred ground where God gently restores what was wounded and renews what was shaken.

Church Hurt: A Message to the Wounded and the Watchers

A testimony of pain, truth, and healing, written for those who still love God yet struggle with the church.

This book was not written to expose people. It was written to give voice to pain that often goes unspoken within church spaces.

Church Hurt is for those who served faithfully, loved deeply, and were quietly wounded. It is for leaders, members, and observers who have questioned their place, voice, or worth after being hurt in the very place meant to offer refuge.

This is not a book of bitterness. It is not a book of church-bashing.

This is a testimony of endurance, healing, and learning to let God restore what people mishandled.

What You Will Find Inside

• Honest reflections on ministry pain and silence

• Encouragement for navigating faith after disappointment

• Gentle truth shared with compassion and humility

• Space to process without pressure or performance

Each chapter is designed to be read at your own pace and is supported by an optional free companion reflection workbook, created to give you space to journal, pray, and reflect offline.

A Closing Word from the Author

This book exists because healing matters more than recognition does.

If this testimony reaches one wounded heart, helps one believer stay connected to God, or reminds someone they are not alone, then it has done exactly what God intended.

Thank you for allowing this testimony to walk alongside you.

If this workbook helps you pause, breathe, cry, reflect, forgive, or start again, then it has fulfilled its purpose.
